About this event
A docent will lead us through the exhibition, which includes selections of Hubbell’s artworks that have appeared in houses of worship and places where people seek a spiritual connection.
The exhibit includes sculptures, paintings, stained glass windows, maquettes, and poetry. Select photographs tell the story of churches, parks, and public spaces around the world designed by Hubbell that function as community gathering places and environments for worship and contemplation. The way beauty affects people, how it opens them up emotionally and spiritually, as well as the role myth and storytelling play in Hubbell’s artwork, are all themes explored in the selections included in this show.
Optional: Join the group for lunch afterward at Johnny Mananas, 308 Mission Ave. You may also want to see the nearby California Surf Museum, 312 Pier View Way.
