On Mondays, we bike at 10:00am on flat, paved surfaces; primarily on bicycle paths (with a few exceptions).  We start and finish at the same place.  The rides are usually around 13-16 miles and include a mid-point refreshment stop and we often follow the ride with lunch.  Helmets are recommended.

We also have bike rides that are a little longer (20-28 miles) and faster than the Monday rides. (aka Long Bike Rides)

We bowl on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month and begin promptly at 9:15am at Kearny Mesa Bowl, located at 7585 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, 92111. Cost is $1.00 per game for all games completed before noon.   All skill levels encouraged to attend.

We are a mix of RVs, trailers, tents and car campers.  We try to arrange communal evening Happy Hours and meals.  You’re on your own for breakfast and lunch.  It’s very laid back...lounge, read, indulge in the Jacuzzi or pool, bike, hike or explore the surrounding area.

The Rockers like to lend a helping hand and do so through volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, beach and river clean-up days and much more.

The Rockers enjoy behind-the-scenes tours (Petco Park, Hotel Del Coronado, Taylor Guitars, California Wolf Center), music (San Diego Symphony), the theater (Moonlight Theater), wine tasting in Temecula just to name a few.

activities-cultural events

The Rockers love to dance, dance, dance!  Come join us at Starlight Dance Studio for their Wednesday ballroom dance classes at 11:00am.  Then we might venture out to other dance venues to practice, practice, practice.

FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. To play FootGolf, athletes use soccer balls on a traditional golf course with 21-inch diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf. This wonderful game is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee.

The Rockers love to golf—whether a Par 3 or Executive course once a month on Fridays or a regulation 18 holes twice a month on Thursdays!

Friday mornings, once a month, the Rockers are hiking.  Most hikes are in the easy to moderate range and are 2-5 miles long.

San Diego is the perfect spot for kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding, usually on Tuesdays once a month. Bring your own or rent one at the location.

The Rockers love to get together to share a meal about once a month at a member’s home.  Members and their guests bring their own beverages and a dish to share.  It’s always a fun time.

San Diego is the perfect spot for sailing!  You don’t need your own boat as we rent boats at local facilities marinas.

Southern California is not too far away from some great ski areas—Mammoth, Big Bear and more.  We also have journeyed to Lake Tahoe and Utah.

Fridays are always better with a social hour.  A no host evening at many locations around San Diego.

Rockers play tennis every Wednesday at 9:30am.  Whether you’re a seasoned player or out of practice and want to pick it up again, all are welcome!

The Rockers always have their passports ready for travel near and far.  Bike and barge trips to the Erie Canal as well as Belgium and Holland.  Travel to Egypt and to Baja for whale watching.

Wednesday exercise = Wexers! Every Wednesday evening at 5:00pm, we walk (or bike in the summer) for an hour and then go out for dinner.  We take advantage of San Diego’s beautiful “walkable” locations at Mission Bay, Shelter Island, Liberty Station, Miramar Lake, Harbor Island and more.
