HIKE - San Dieguito Lagoon Trail
This is an easy 3.5-mile hike along the San Dieguito Lagoon Trail in Del Mar. Enjoy the recently restored wetland to view plentiful birdlife and other wildlife of one our best estuaries in San Diego. Any hiking shoe OK, bring water, no restrooms at start, no poles necessary.
This is one of the San Dieguito trails that connect the ocean to Vulcan Mountain in Julian more than 50 miles away.
This will be the 1st of 6 San Dieguito River Park Challenge Hikes. This is the 10th year of offering these challenge hikes. Make it your goal this year to complete them all
Plan on lunch afterwards at the Viewpoint Restaurant
Trailhead Location
In Del Mar, just past and in back of the Gelson's supermarket at the end of
San Andres Dr.
GPS Location 2707 Via Del La Valle
DIRECTIONS:
From I-5 take exit Via de la Valle
Go east, take a right on San Andres Dr, just past the Gelson supermarket on the right.
Go to the end of the street and park at the San Andres trailhead.
We are going on the trail to the right!
