Famosa Slough is a small wetland on the south side of Mission Bay east of Ocean Beach. It is a good location to see shorebirds and migratory ducks. We will be walking through a small riparian area and then around the perimeter of the slough. The total distance is less than a mile. Parking is in a dirt lot on the south side of the slough. To get there go west on I-8 and take the Nimitz Bl. exit. Take a left on West Pt. Loma Bl. and head east to Famosa Bl. Take a right on Famosa and go to Valeta St. Take a left on Valeta and go down to the bottom of the hill. The parking lot is on the left. Please bring binoculars and good walking shoes.
