Snorkel in La Jolla

About this event

Let's get in a snorkel while the water is still fairly warm.

Though surface temps are warm this time of year, there could be cold water up-welling from a deep offshore canyon, so consider bringing a thin wetsuit.

Bring your own gear, or you can rent at several shops along Avenida De La Playa.  Make sure it fits well - especially mask and fins.

Please be on the beach with your gear and ready to go at 9:30 am so we can get in most of our dive before the tide starts to change around 10:30.  Leave plenty of time for parking and walking to the meeting area.

We'll sign in, I'll give a short talk, we'll buddy up and walk a little ways south to enter the water.

The tides should be in our favor, but the water could be rough if there are swells coming in.  Keep this in mind if you're not comfortable in the water.

No reason to rush off afterwards.  Hang out on a beach chair or boogeyboard and enjoy!

We're also posting this to Don Diego Ski Club.
