Description: Serene Oak Oasis Preserve covers almost 400 acres of oak woodland, boulder studded hills, chaparral fully grown back after the 2003 Cedar Fire and great views of the San Vicente Reservoir. The Preserve was originally the homestead of Margaret Minshall and was given to the county many years ago. Join me on this moderate 4 mile hike with a 600 foot elevation gain, a few rocky spots along the trail.

Hiking poles recommended, porta potties at the trailhead, bring a snack and plenty of fluids. The Barona Casino is just 2 miles away and might be a nice place for an after hike lunch. Carpools can be arranged.

Meeting Location: Parking lot of the Oak Oasis Preserve located at 12620 Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside.
