HIKE - Mount Laguna Desert View
4- mile moderate hike along the spine of Mount Laguna with views down over 2000 feet to the Anza Borrego Desert. We will be hiking through a forest of Jeffery pines, black oaks and an understory of native chaparral shrubs. Elevation gain is around 200 feet, but it will take us some time to adjust to the trail altitude of 6000 feet. Trail in places will be rocky so poles recommended, good hiking boots, plenty of fluids.

Directions: Take the Sunrise Highway (Highway 1) north off I -8.  Meet in the Desert View Picnic area just north of the Laguna Mountain Lodge & Store about mile marker 23.6. I -8 is likely to remain under construction so give yourself an extra 20 minutes of travel time. We will arrange carpools for this trip to the mountains.

If you can, plan on joining the group for lunch after the hike at the Out Post Restaurant across from the Laguna Mountain Store.
